Trishna, Lucky and Bol among screenings at the festival’s 14th edition, which runs March 16-24.

Ribhu Dasgupta’s Michael will kick off this year’s London Asian Film Festival with festival patrons Abhishek Bachchan and Meera Syal on hand to open the festival, hosted by Tongues On Fire.

Other highlights include a screening of the controversial Pakistani film Bol, with actress Humaima Malik on hand for a Q&A session following the screening, and Avie Luthra’s Lucky, adapted from Luthra’s short which screened at the festival previously.

Confirmed guests include directors Italo Spinelli – who will take place in a Q&A following a screening of his film Gangor - and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who will be presented with an award for his work on disability in Indian cinema.

The festival will also work in collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Support for a series of film making workshops, and Time To Change for a screening of their short film Wedding Reception.

An awards ceremony, held at BAFTA, will take place on the closing night.
