VOD subscription service PictureBox has acquired the on-demand rights in Poland to more than 30 films from The Walt Disney Company EMEA.
Titles include the first three Pirates Of The Caribbean films, The Incredibles, Armageddon, National Treasure, Face/Off and Pretty Woman. Films are refreshed on a weekly basis.
PictureBox launched in 2006 and is currently available in Poland on the n platform. PictureBox also operates on platforms in the UK and Singapore, with further global expansion planned.
Tom Tykwer’s German thriller was a breakout for the director and his star star Franka Potente.
“Our real value add now is in terms of international sales,” revealed Oli Harbottle of Dogwoof.
Reference funding from the German Federal Film Board is based on a film’s box office, festival and awards performance.
