Big Break

Greenwich Entertainment has acquired North American rights to Big Break, the comedy horror and feature debut from New York-based sketch comedy group Simple Town that premiered at Fantasia.

The feature takes place years after a fictionalised version of Simple Town has disbanded and old friends gather at a reunion in a secluded woodland mansion. As they try to get their one successful former member to cast them in his next film, the group learns what it means to kill.

Ian Faria directed from a screenplay by Samuel Lanier. Will Niedmann, Caro Yost, Felipe Di Poi Tamargo, and Lanier star alongside Ivy Wolk and Jefferson White.

Producers are Sarah Wilson, Ani Schroeter, Graham Mason, Richie Doyle, and Conor Hannon. Doyle and Hannon of Bronxburgh produced John Wilson’s The History Of Concrete, which is approaching $2.5m in its sixth week at the North American box office, and last season’s Oscar nominee If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.

Greenwich’s Jasper Basch negotiated the acquisition with CAA Media Finance on behalf of the filmmakers.
