Pressure, the D-Day wartime drama starring Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser, will open in the US on May 29, ahead of the June 6 annual day of remembrance, Focus Features, Working Title, and Studiocanal said on Wednesday (January 28).
The feature chronicles the 1944 D-Day Normandy landings from the perspective of the real-life British meteorologist (Scott) whose calculation would determine the exact date of the Allied mission. Fraser co-stars as US military commander Dwight D Eisenhower, and the cast includes Kerry Condon, Chris Messina, and Damian Lewis.
Anthony Maras, whose credits include Hotel Mumbai, directs and co-wrote the screenplay with David Haig, based on Haig’s play.
Studiocanal financed Pressure and developed the project with Working Title and Maras. Working Title’s Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, and Lucas Webb produced, while Cass Marks and Studiocanal’s Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern, and Joe Naftalin served as executive producers.
Focus distributes in the US, Universal Pictures International distributes in Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Pan-Asia, while Studiocanal handles worldwide sales and distributes directly in the UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Poland, Australia and New Zealand.
