Georgia Brown, former head of Amazon Studios, Europe, has found a new role as chief content officer at podcast subscription platform Podimo.
Brown will lead the company’s end-to-end content strategy across its subscription platform and new studios division, overseeing the production and global rollout of original IP across podcasts, video, and digital formats.
The executive was previously head of Amazon Studios, Europe from 2017 to 2022; prior to which she worked at Fremantle, Shine International and BBC Worldwide in executive roles.
Brown also chaired the screen industry Skills Task Force, addressing labour shortages within the UK production sector, from 2023; and joined the board of UK production hub Garden Studios last year.
She was brought to Podimo by outgoing chief content officer Sachin Doshi, who will step down from his role in September and take a position on Podimo’s board, while continuing to advise the company’s expanding Studios and platform strategies.
“The creator economy is experiencing rapid, transformative growth, reshaping how stories are told, shared, and monetised,” said Brown. “The future of content lies in convergence between the world of traditional entertainment and the dynamic, ever-evolving creator landscape.”
Podimo was founded in Denmark in 2019, and works in local-language spoken audio entertainment, recently topping 1m paying subscribers across its European and Latin American markets.
