
Film at Lincoln Center (FLC) has announced it will present George Clooney with the 51st Chaplin Award recognising ”an individual’s significant contributions to the art of cinema” on April 27, 2026.
Clooney is riding high on strong reviews for his lead performance in Noah Baumbach’s awards contender and Venice world premiere Jay Kelly that debuts on Netflix on December 5. Clooney plays an A-lister who reflects on life as he travels to Europe to collect a lifetime achievement award.
The actor, director and humanitarian’s films include Syriana, the Danny Ocean franchise, Michael Clayton, O Brother Where Art Thou, Out Of Sight, and directorial credits The Ides Of March, and Good Night, And Good Luck.
Clooney won the supporting actor Oscar for Syriana and has been nominated on three other occasions for acting Academy Awards. He shared best picture Oscar and Bafta awards for Argo in 2013 with Grant Heslov and Ben Affleck, and earned a Tony nomination for his Broadway debut in Good Night, And Good Luck.

His contributions continue to inspire audiences and artists around the world.”
Prior recipients include Pedro Almodóvar, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, Spike Lee, Martin Scorsese, Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Gregory Peck, and Meryl Streep.
