UK-based GFM Film Sales will launch worldwide sales on Escape, the latest film from British director Howard J Ford, at next week’s European Film Market (EFM, February 16-22).

GFM Film Sales has released a first look image from the film, above; promo footage will be available to distributors at EFM.

Escape is currently in post-production after a shoot on location in Spain’s Canary Islands.

The film follows 10 young women imprisoned in a makeshift dungeon. The criminal gang preparing to ship them overseas are caught unawares when some of the women break free.

An ensemble cast includes Sarah Alexandra Marks, Sophie Rankin, Sean Cronin, Angela Dixon, Glenn Salvage, Jon-Paul Gates, Ksenia Islamova, Megan Lockhurst and Tiffany Hannam-Daniels.

Escape is Ford’s 10th feature; he has previously collaborated with GFM Film Sales on 2022’s The Ledge and 2021’s The Lockdown Hauntings.

Fred Hedman, GFM Film Sales partner, described the film as “a high-concept genre piece with a perfect blend of action and violence that will excite audiences worldwide.”

“I really wanted the film to be a total blast and an epic journey,” said Ford. “I’m not making a documentary here, it’s outlandish and larger than life. The action and violence are visceral and the landscapes striking. When the women fight back, they fight back hard.”

Escape is written, directed and produced by Ford; and produced by Hedman.
