IMDbPro has formed a collaboration with the International Casting Directors Association (ICDA) designed to help ICDA members use IMDbPro Premium for talent discovery and casting around the world.
As part of the arrangement, IMDbPro, the membership service of Amazon-owned entertainment database IMDb, is launching a feature that displays the ICDA logo on the IMDb and IMDbPro name pages of Association members.
The feature, which lets database users search for casting directors through a verified ICDA filter, is also available to members of US casting professionals organisation Casting Society and actors union SAG-AFTRA.
The ICDA was launched in 2023 after evolving from the International Casting Directors Network, an international non-profit organisation formed in Berlin in 2019. The Association has more than 50 members from 38 countries.
IMDb CEO Nikki Santoro commented: “This new collaboration between IMDbPro and the International Casting Directors Association marks a milestone in our commitment to supporting casting directors and other industry decision-makers to discover talent for their projects. IMDbPro Premium enables ICDA members to tap into a vast pool of global talent, contributing to the creation of more diverse and compelling international productions.”
ICDA president Lana Veenker added: “Casting international projects requires skill, knowledge, passion, and a full toolkit of resources to bring forward the best actors for each role. IMDbPro Premium enhances the ability of casting directors to more thoroughly and efficiently discover talent for global productions, which opens up new opportunities for actors and filmmakers around the world.”
