‘Nagi Notes’

Greenwich Entertainment has picked up North American rights from mk2 to Kōji Fukada’s Cannes competition Japanese drama Nagi Notes.

Greenwich plans an early 2027 release on the story about the bond between former sisters-in-law who reconnect, one an artist contemplating a past romance, the other dealing with divorce. Shizuka Ishibashi and Takako Matsu star.

Hassaku Labs, Star Sands, Survivance, Nathan Studios, Wonderstruck and Momo Film Co. produced the Japanese-French co-production and Atsuko Ohno, Ryo Nagai, and Michiaki Tsunoda served as producers.

Greenwich negotiated the deal with Quentin Bohanna of mk2 on behalf of the producers. Fukada’s credits include 2022 Venice competition title Love Life and 2016 Cannes Un Certain Regard winner Harmonium.

Last week the distributor announced it had acquired North American rights to NB Mager’s Sundance feature directorial debut Run Amok, the high school shooting satire starring Alyssa Marvin, Margaret Cho, Sophia Torres, Molly Ringwald, and Patrick Wilson.
