Velarium Arts, EMAfilms and Filmoption International to co-produce Rodrigo Hernandez’s Multiplier.

Velarium Arts, EMAfilms and Filmoption International are teaming up to co-produce Multiplier.

Mayra Espinosa Castro & Jorge Michel Grau (Velarium Arts), Anne-Marie Gélinas & Benoit Beaulieu (EMAfilms) and Andrew Noble (Filmoption International) signed the deal in Cannes for Rodrigo Hernandez’s sci-fi.

Based on Hernandez’s short Protocol, the film is currently in development with an aim for principal photography to start in Mexico in 2015. Post-production, including the visual effects, will take place in Montreal.

The partners originally met during the first edition of Fantasia’s international co-production market Frontières. Noble joined the project during the Guadalajara market last March.

Gélinas is also the producer of Frontières project Turbo Kid, which recently completed principal photography.
