
New projects from Dag Johan Haugerud, May el-Toukhy, Erik Poppe and Amanda Kernell will be showcased at Göteborg Film Festival’s Nordic Film Market (January 28-30).
Norwegian filmmaker Haugerud, best known for his Berlinale award-winning ‘Sex Loves Dreams’ trilogy, will present Light And Shadows in the Discovery co-production platform.

El-Toukhy, the Danish-Egyptian filmmaker behind 2019’s Queen Of Hearts, brings new project Woman, Unknown to the works-in-progress strand. Also in that section is Poppe’s Beloved, produced by Norway’s Paradox.
Swedish filmmaker Kernell, whose 2017 drama Sami Blood won several awards on the festival circuit, is presenting the Nordisk Film-produced project Brace Your Heart in works in progress.
Over 70 projects have been selected for the market in total and include 19 completed Nordic market screenings, 19 works in progress, and 16 films in development presented through the market’s co-production platform, Discovery, alongside six international titles in the Nordic Gateway.
The Market will present two awards: the €15,000 Film Finances Scandinavia award, to a project in the Discovery co-production platform demonstrating artistic excellence and international potential; and the €36,000 Tint Post-Production award, to an exceptional project from the Nordic Gateway line-up.
Over 600 market delegates, including buyers, distributors, sales agents, producers, festival programmers, fund representatives and other key delegates, from 35 countries, are expected to attend.
