EXCLUSIVE: On the eve of the Cannes market Toronto-based Raven Banner Entertainment has acquired world sales rights to Nicholas Pineda’s psychological horror Infirmary.

A North American deal is expected to be announced imminently on the story about investigators who discover bodycam footage from a missing security guard at an abandoned psychiatric hospital that shows increasingly inexplicable incidents within the facility.

The cast includes Paul Syre Lee, Mark Anthony Williams, and Danielle Kennedy. Katy Krauland and Pineda produced through their Amalgam Films banner in association with Witchcraft Motion Picture Company. Noah Lang and Rod Blackhurst served as executive producers.

“We’re always looking for films that create a strong sense of atmosphere and psychological unease, and Infirmary immediately stood out,” said Michael Paszt of Raven Banner. “Nick has crafted a film that is deeply unsettling, visually confident, and rooted in a kind of dread that travels well internationally.” James Fler of Raven Banner added the film was “the kind of contained horror that plays strongly with audiences and offers real upside in the global marketplace”.

Pineda said, “Raven Banner has a great track record of supporting audacious genre films and connecting them with audiences worldwide.”
