EXCLUSIVE: Toronto-based Raven Banner will kick off talks with international buyers at AFM next week on the recent Locarno premiere and supernatural horror Sundown featuring Carrie lead Summer H. Howell.
Rebekah McKendry directed from a screenplay by Joshua Hull, David Ian McKendry and the key cast includes Olwen Fouéré (The Watchers, Mandy), Camille Sullivan (Shelby Oaks), and Daniel Bernhardt (Deathstalker).
Sundown centres on three generations of women who reunite in a remote cabin to avenge a loved one’s death, only to discover their captive is not who he seems to be and his family is closing in, waiting for sundown. Shudder recently acquired all rights for the US, UK, and Australia/New Zealand. Raven Banner will distribute in Canada
Guns N’ Roses’ guitarist Slash served as executive producer through his BeserkerGang. The producers are Pasha Patriki of Hangar 18 Media, and Raven Banner’s Michael Paszt, Andrew Thomas Hunt, and James Fler.
The Raven Banner AFM slate includes the market premiere of Marta Giec’s Polish horror Òpi, in which a teenager tries to escape a suffocating relationship with her mother. Two previously-announced titles are on the roster: Alphan Eseli’s Turkish horror Mutter: The Diary Of A Mother, and Canadian thriller Hair Of The Bear from Alexandre Trudeau and James McLellan.
