During a conversation at the upcoming Restart Conference (May 18-20), Film4 director Daniel Battsek, BBC Film director Rose Garnett and BFI Film Fund editor at large Lizzie Francke will speak about how each are developing slates and working with filmmakers to help create a dynamic and sustainable UK film industry.

The live panel, chaired by Screen International deputy editor Louise Tutt, will take place online at 2:45pm BST on May 19.

The topics under discussion will include the role of public funding now the streamers have arrived on the local production financing scene, the opportunities and challenges for filmmakers following the UK’s exit from the European Union, and how they are all working to give voice – and budgets – to filmmakers from every background and every community.

Organised by Media Business Insight (MBI), publisher of Screen and Broadcast, the three-day virtual industry conference will see a number of sessions discussing the impact of the pandemic on the industry and how it can move forward, successfully navigating its way into the future. Find out more here.

The conference is free to attend for subscribers of MBI’s leading media brands: Screen international, Broadcast, KFTV, Broadcast Intelligence, Commissioners Index and Production Intelligence.
