The Hitman’s Bodyguard

The Hitman’s Bodyguard was the most discussed film online in the UK this week, with almost 1000 more comments than second place Everything Everything, according to analysis from Way to Blue.

The action-comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson took 3,127 total comments from 17-23 August, of which 359 indicated an intent to view.

The film, which opened last week, is rated 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. It knocked Dunkirk from the top spot at the UK box office, helped by Thursday previews.

Everything Everything, also released last week, received 3,127 total comments, 442 of which indicated an intent to view. The US romantic drama starring Amanda Stenberg and Nick Robinson follows a girl with SCID who falls for the boy next door.

Of the films opening this week, Rough Night had the most total comments with 2,044, 19 of which indicated an intent to view placing it third in overall buzz. The bachelorette comedy released in June in the US has made $45 million at the worldwide box office so far.

Logan Lucky placed fourth overall and second for the week’s new releases, garnering 2,044 overall comments, 193 expressing intent to view. Steven Soderbergh’s latest film starring Daniel Craig and Channing Tatum opened in third place last week at the US box office with returns of $7.6 million.
