First host Wendy Mitchell talks to senior UK and Ireland reporter Mona Tabbara about her time at the Transilvania and the Galway Film Fleadh.
”I would recommend people go to the Fleadh,” Tabbara says. ”You’ll meet some really, really top producers who are winning Oscars, Baftas, playing at Cannes and Venice and doing really well. And you’ll bump into them out and about. You won’t need to be hustling your way in anywhere.”
Mitchell is then joined by senior UK and international reporter Ben Dalton to get the lowdown on the Karlovy Vary film festival and share her own thoughts on the Munich International Film Festival, including why she declined to take part in the (in)famous rafting activity.
On Karlovy Vary, Dalton says: “This year was really, really busy. The whole town felt full from the start. For the opening night, they actually allow people to stand in the aisles, which you don’t get in many other festivals.”
The Screen Podcast is produced by Ellie Calnan, with Wendy Mitchell serving as editorial director. New episodes every Thursday.
