Production on Miss Bala director Gerardo Naranjo’s untitled English-language debut for Verisimilitude and Lola Pictures is set to commence in Nevada in late March.
Dakota Fanning, Frank Dillane, Jeremy Allen White, Zoe Kravitz and Caleb Landry Jones will star, with Fanning in the lead as a punk band roadie on a journey of self-discovery in the 1980s.
Hunter Gray and Alex Orlovsky of Verisimilitude and Chris Ramirez of Lola Pictures are the producers and Las Vegas-based Lola is financing.
CAA arranged financing and negotiated the deal with Preferred Content on behalf of Lola. CAA and Preferred Content jointly represent US rights.
Verimilitude recently produced Mike Cahill’s Alfred P Sloan Feature Film Prize winner from Sundance, I Origins.
Lola is on board Killer Films and Parts & Labor’s Frank & Lola and will produce Mark Fergus’ Dulcinea starring Nicolas Cage.
