Roman Polanski is preparing his new film Venus In Fur, while Catherine Deneuve will star in Dans La Cour.
In November principal photography will commence on Roman Polanski’s next feature Venus In Fur, which centres on the power play between a writer-director and an actress desperate for the lead role in his upcoming play. Polanski adapted the Broadway hit together with its playwright David Ives, and will film the romantic drama in French. Polanski’s wife, French actress Emmanuelle Seigner will star opposite Louis Garrel. Robert Benmussa and Alain Sarde are producing for RP Films and Lionsgate/Summit International will handle international sales. ICM bought North American rights.
Gustave Kervern and Catherine Deneuve have been lined up to star in Pierre Salvadori’ s Dans La Cour, about a 40-year-old musician who abruptly decides to end his career and starts working as a doorman. Soon after he meets an eccentric woman. Pio Marmaï and Féodor Atkine have also been cast. The drama is based on Salvadori’s and David Colombo-Léotard’s screenplay and is produced by Les Films Pelléas alongside France 2 Cinema. Shooting is scheduled to start on October 8 in Paris and will last until mid-December. Wild Bunch holds worldwide rights and will also release in France next year.
