Malin Akerman has joined the cast of The Numbers Station, opposite Ethan Hawke.

The action thriller stars Hawke as a disgraced black ops agent protecting Katherine (Akerman) who is a code operator at a CIA broadcast station in the Nevada desert.

Akerman’s recent films include The Romantics and TIFF selection The Bang Bang Club.

Kasper Barfoed (The Candidate) will direct from F. Scott Frazier’s script.

The project is set to shoot in early 2011. More cast is being announced soon.

Sean and Bryan Furst of Furst Films (Daybreakers,The Cooler) are producing with Ethan Hawke under his banner Under The Influence Productions, with the company’s Ryan Hawke on board as executive producer. Hawke is represented by CAA and attorney George Sheanshang.  Chris Cowles and Chris Fenton of H2F Entertainment will serve as executive producers on The Numbers Station.
