Filming is due to begin in Newcastle later this month on TallTree Pictures’ gritty crime thriller.

TallTree Pictures has secured $2 million of investment to finance gritty Newcastle-set crime thriller Harrigan starring Stephen Tompkinson.

Filming is due to begin in Newcastle later this month.

The film is being backed by 12 private investors, including independent venture capital management company Rivers Capital Partners’ North East Angel Fund, which invests in start up or existing businesses with potential for growth.

TallTree’s commercial director Kirsty Bell said she hoped the film would bring exposure to Newcastle and provide a boost to the North East economy. “We will be creating over 100 jobs for the duration of filming and it is our policy to only use the best acting and production talent based in or from the North East.”
