Gergio Serafini and Joe Wright ready their shoots for The Healer and Anna Karenina, while Michel Gondry is preparing his latest project  L’Ecume Des Jours.

Next week principal photography will commence on Serafini’s The Healer, about teenage twins who embark on a camping trip with their father, which turns into a perilous adventure as they become lost in a haunted forest. Serafini also wrote the screenplay to this English language thriller, which will star Isabelle Fuhrman, James Le Gros and Joel Courtney.  Giuseppe Pedersoli is producing for Smile Production alongside Susan Johnson.

This month shooting will also kick off on Anna Karenina, which will be directed by Joe Wright and produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Paul Webster for UK’s Working Title Films. Tom Stoppard wrote the screenplay for this adaptation of  Leo Tolstoy’s eponymous 19th century novel, which will star Keira Knightly as Anna, who is miserable in her loveless marriage to Aleksei and subsequently succumbs to her desires for the dashing Vronsky. Jude Law and Aaron Johnson have been cast as her husband and Vronsky respectively. Universal Pictures International will release the film internationally excluding the US, for which Focus Features has acquired distribution rights.

Romain Duris and Audrey Tautou are lined up to star in Michel Gondry’s next film L’Ecume Des Jours, an adaptation of Boris Vian’s 1947 classic love story of the same name. Production duties for this $21m romantic drama are shared between StudioCanal and Brio Films, with Luc Bossi acting as producer. Shooting is scheduled to take place next spring in Paris and Brussels.
