Cinedigm has taken North American rights to Godfrey Reggio’s Visitors, set to receive its world premiere on Sept 8 at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The black-and-white film boasts an original score by Philip Glass and will screen in 4K digital projection with live accompaniment by members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Visitors took seven years to make and marks the fourth collaboration between Reggio and Glass after the Qatsi Trilogy of Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi [pictured].

Cinedigm plans to release Visitors theatrically in 4K throughout the autumn.

Visitors explores humanity’s trancelike relationship with technology and how it can produce massive effects far beyond the human species.

Cinedigm director of acquisitions Emily Rothschild brokered the deal with Larry Taub for the filmmakers.
