This year’s best documentary Oscar winner has sold to Dogwoof in the UK, Madman in Australia and CDC in Latin America, among others.

Elsewhere, deals closed with Independent Films in Benelux, Impuls Pictures/Rialto in Switzerland, Sam Films in Iceland and United King in Israel.

President of international sales and distribution Alex Walton also reported that Undefeated has gone to Cathay in Singapore, PT Amero in Indonesia, Lots Home Entertainment in Taiwan and M Pictures in Thailand. Negotiations continue with other territories. The Weinstein Company released the film in the US on Feb 17.

Undefeated is a universally crowd pleasing film exploring the triumph of the human spirit and it is attracting some of the leading documentary distributors from around the world including Dogwoof and Madman,” Walton said. “This is a film that deserves to be seen and our first class international partners are bringing it to the widest audience possible.”

Exclusive Media’s documentary arm Spitfire Pictures and Zipper Bros Films produced the film about an inspirational American Football coach who leads a team of inner city teenagers to success. It was produced in association with Level 22 and Five Smooth Stones Productions.

Dan Lindsay and T J Martin directed and the producers are Exclusive Media’s head of documentary Features Glen Zipper, Rich Middlemas, Lindsay, Seth Gordon and Ed Cunningham. 

Exclusive Media co-chairmen Nigel Sinclair and Guy East served as executive producers with Zipper Bros Films President Ralph Zipper, Chris Miller, Sean Combs, Paolo Coppola, Neeraj Kohli, Michele Farinola and Jillian Longnecker, Exclusive Media’s svp head of physical productions.
