The franchise’s 10-year international box office record of $657m set by Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone has finally fallen, Warner Bros Pictures international distribution head Veronika Kwan-Rubinek confirmed last night [9].

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 1 has amassed $657.24m since it launched on Nov 19, 2010 and has gone on to gross $951.8m worldwide. The final instalment opens on Jul 15.

“These numbers speak to the phenomenal and enduring strength of this property, which has captivated audiences across all borders, regardless of age or culture,” Kwan-Rubinek said. “We’re looking forward to releasing Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 this summer, which will be a fitting way to bring to a close the movie event of a generation.”
