The British actor will star opposite the previously announced Joel Edgerton in the project. The Solution Entertainment Group is selling internationally and CAA represents US rights.
Rosemary Blight of Goalpost Pictures Australia is producing with Edgerton through his Blue-Tongue Films. Principal photography is set to get underway in late October.
Matthew Saville will direct from a screenplay by Edgerton about a decorated police officer who lies to colleagues about his involvement in a road accident.
The Solution arranged financing on Felony and principals Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel will serve as executive producers. Roadshow Films holds distribution rights for Australia and New Zealand.
The Solution Entertainment Group’s Toronto sales slate include festival world premiere Writers starring Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly and Lily Collins; action thriller November Man with Pierce Brosnan and Dominic Cooper; Grand Piano starring Elijah Wood and John Cusack; and Hector And The Search For Happiness with Simon Pegg, Rosamund Pike and Christopher Plummer.
