Five finalists selected in nationwide search for the UK’s brightest young film-maker.

Dream to Screen has selected five finalists in its nationwide search to find the UK’s brightest young film-maker.

A panel of judges from the world of film, including Dame Helen Mirren and BAFTA chief executive Amanda Berry, selected the finalists from over 500 entries from 16-25 year olds across the UK and Ireland.

Launched by Cineworld Foundation and Media Trust, with support from the Jack Petchey Foundation, the initiative will see all finalists assigned a BAFTA mentor to help them produce their own short film.

The finalists are Onysha Collins, 23 years from London; George O’Regan, 16 years old from London; William Horsefield, 19 years old from Milton Keynes; Callum Costello, 25 years old from Newcastle and Sarah Grant, 24 years old from Glasgow.

They will compete against each other in a public vote from Sept 1 and the winner will have their short film showcased in all Cineworld cinemas as well as winning an all expense paid trip to LA to learn from Hollywood’s leading talent, provided and organised by 20th Century Fox.
