Akin Ceylan has been promoted to COO of Lionsgate Home Entertainment Group.

Ceylan will be responsible for all operational aspects and infrastructure management of the group on the heels of its record year in 2012 when the company achieved more than $1bn in revenue and top-five studio market share.

Key drivers for 2012 were The Hunger Games and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.

2013 highlights includes The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Now You See Me and A&E’s breakout hit Duck Dynasty.

The executive will continue to report to Lionsgate Home Entertainment president and general manager, sales and distribution Ron Schwartz.

Ceylan previously served as chief supply chain officer and executive vice president of operations for the Home Entertainment Group and joined Lionsgate in 2005 from MGM.
