Quentin Dupieux and producer Gregory Bernard of Réalitism Films are in Cannes drumming up finance for the director’s third film Wrong Cops starring Marilyn Manson and Marc Burnham.

The French, LA-based filmmaker will premiere a 13-minute first chapter of the film in the shorts selection of Directors’ Fortnight next week. It will also get an online premiere shortly after its Cannes screening on www.wrongcops.com.

Burnham plays Duke, a crooked and music-mad cop, who tries to re-educate an adolescent techno lover on his musical tastes.

Producer Bernard is seeking finance for the film’s remaining six chapters for which Kinology is handling pre-sales. It is due to complete production end 2012.

Burnham plays Duke, a crooked and music-mad cop, who tries to re-educate an adolescent techno lover on his musical tastes.

Dupieux describes the film as “a filthy 90-minute comedy about some disturbed cops, set against a pre-apocalyptic vintage LA background”.

Réalitism Films is also producing Donoma director Djinn Carrenard’s Faire L’Amour, which started shooting on April 23, and developing Dupieux’s first French-language picture Réalité.
