The awards will recognise the best short films to come out of the London Borough Film Fund Challenge

Eleven short films have been shortlisted for Film London’s Best of Boroughs Film Awards (BoBs), which will honour the best short films to come out of the London Borough Film Fund Challenge (LBFFC).

The 11 shortlisted films, which feature actors including Nicholas Hoult and Peter Mullan, will compete for the Audience Award and Jury Award, both of which carry prizes of £2000.

The BoBs Award ceremony will take place at BAFTA on September 7.

The LBFFC has funded 160 short films since it launched in 2006. The scheme, which is open to residents in 22 London boroughs, is backed by the Mayor of London and Skillset with National Lottery funding.

“Working with the local authorities helps extend the reach of the fund giving us a chance to inspire those who may not have previously engaged with film or film-making,” said Film London’s CEO Adrian Wootton.
