Marjane Satrapi’s new film The Voices has started shooting in Germany and a big screen adaptation of Shaun the Sheep will be made.

Reynolds, Gemma Arterton and Anna Kendrick star in Marjane Satrapi’s latest production The Voices, about an ordinary bathtub factory worker whose relationship with a woman from accounting takes a sudden, deadly turn. Hearing voices from his good dog and evil cat, he begins a fantastic journey towards salvation.

The US-German co-production is currently shooting at Berlin’s Studio Babelsberg, which is also co-producing alongside 1984 Private Defense Contractors and Mandalay Vision.

The story is based on the screenplay by Michael R. Perry. Ascot Elite will release in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Aardman Animations and StudioCanal have teamed up to bring BBC’s animated TV series Shaun The Sheep to the big screen.

Mark Burton and Richard Starzak will co-write the screenplay and direct the film, which follows claymation character Shaun, whose mischief inadvertently leads to the farmer having to leave the farm. Shaun, Bitzer and the flock then have to go into the big city to rescue him in an “epic adventure”.

StudioCanal is financing and also acquired international sales rights as well as distribution rights for the UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
