Gordon Bijelonic and Datari Turner Films have completed principal photography on Kid Cannabis in Victoria, Canada, and on Monica in Houston, Texas.

Based on a popular Rolling Stone article by Mark Binelli, Kid Cannabis centres on the true story of a marijuana ring started by two young Idaho suburbanites. John Stockwell wrote and directed the film that stars Jonathan Daniel Brown of Project X, Kenny Wormald of Footloose, Ron Perlman and John C McGinley

Bijelonic and Turner produced Kid Cannabis alongside Corey Large and Michael Becker. Executive producers are Steve Ware, Cain McKnight, Alison Lee, Mark Silverwood, Alan Pao, Mia Chang and Bic Tran.

A modern day take on Indecent Proposal, Monica (working title) focuses on a young fiancée who takes a job as an exotic dancer to care for her ailing father. Robert Hoffman, Briana Evigan, Ali Cobrin, Mariel Hemingway and James Remar star. Gregory Carter wrote and directed.

“We are very excited about the new films that we’re doing,” said Turner. “Having two Sundance films back-to-back in 2011 and 2012 is putting a message out there that we are getting behind quality scripts and able to attach top notch talent at the same time.

“Gordon Bijelonic, my producing partner, and I have worked really hard over the last few years and we’re starting to see some of that hard work paying off.”

Bijelonic and Turner produced Monica with Michael Becker. The executive producers are Ware, McKnight, Reggie Carter, Corey Large, Pao and Nenad Medic.

ICM Partners represents Bijelonic and Turner and the agency is handling sales on both titles.
