Shooting has begun in Edmonton, Canada, on the Kilburn Media thriller, which now stars Liam Hemsworth in place of Armie Hammer due to scheduling conflicts. eOne will distribute in Canada and eOne Films International handles sales outside North America.

The cast includes John Malkovich, Billy Bob Thornton and Cannes best actor winner Bruce Dern. Cut Bank follows a young car mechanic whose dreams of leaving the coldest town in the US set in motion a deadly sequence of events.

Matt Shakman directs from the Black List screenplay by Roberto Patino. Teresa Palmer, Oliver Platt and Michael Stuhlbarg round out the key cast.

Laura Rister, Ed Zwick, Dan Cohen and Mickey Barold produce and Kilburn Media is financing with Alberta-based partner, the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation.

WME and Untitled Entertainment jointly represent US rights.
