Amsterdam’s new EYE film museum, which opens to the public on April 5, will kick off with a festival week (April 5-11) including screenings, live music, dance, talks, a children’s day and more.
The first major exhibition at the space will be Found Footage: Cinema Exposed. And EYE will also kick off with a Martin Scorsese retrospective.
Found Footage opens April 5 with a screening of Circo Togni. The Scorsese series will include Taxi Driver, The Last Waltz and Raging Bull.
Dutch rappers De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig have selected their favourite film, Terminator II: Judgment Day to screen in the Film Love strand.
Other film highlights include The Spanish Dancer from 1923, a 70mm print of West Side Story, Nicholas Ray’s restored We Can’t Go Home Again.
The children’s day on April 7 will include E.T. as well as recent Berlinale prizewinner Kauwboy.
A film quiz and crime marathon are also planned.
