The European Audiovisual Observatory has announced plans to start studying tax law.

Hasan Bermek, a lawyer of Turkish nationality, has joined the Strasbourg-based Observatory to head the tax law study team. He will build a network of tax specialists in eac hof the Observatory's 36 member states.

Dr. Susanne Nikoltchev, head of the observatory's department for legal information said: 'The field of tax law in Europe has far-reaching consequences for the audiovisual sector and we are delighted to announce that we will be analysing its developments in order to provide a European overview for the professionals and decision-makers working in this sector.'
