The Canadian distributor has announced its 2016 film line-up with a slate that includes Jean-François Richet’s Blood Father starring Mel Gibson and Elvis & Nixon starring Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey.

Blood Father premieres in March and stars Gibson as a screw-up father attempting to rescue his teen daughter from her drug kingpin boyfriend.

Liza Johnson’s historical take on the encounter between President Richard Nixon and Elvis Presley in Elvis & Nixon (pictured) follows on April 15.

Jérôme Salle’s version of Jacques Cousteau biopic The Odyssey starring Lambert Wilson, Pierre Niney and Audrey Tautou and Philippe Falardeau’s boxing drama The Bleeder starring Liev Schreiber both premiere in the autumn.

John Lee Hancock’s The Founder starring Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald’s, rounds out the list in December. Elevation Pictures co-distributes The Founder.

Remstar also plans to greenlight film and television projects for 2017 through its financing venture Remstar Studios.
