Next edition of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival to run Feb 14-24.

Jackie Ryan [pictured] has been appointed interim general manager of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) to deliver the 2013 edition of Ireland’s leading film event.

Ryan succeeds Joanne O’Hagan, who has managed the festival as CEO since 2007, and has previously been education officer with the National Gallery of Ireland (1993-98), general manager of TEAM Educational Theatre Company (1998-2002), general manager of Draíocht Arts Centre (2003-2008) and, most recently, CEO of Graphic Studio Dublin (2008-12). O’Hagan is returning to filmmaking.

Chair of the board of directors, Arthur Lappin, commented: “The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival is delighted to have secured the services of Jackie Ryan as its interim general manager. Jackie’s management roles in several arts organisations make her an ideal choice forthis position. As we welcome Jackie we must, with regret, say goodbye to Joanne O’Hagan who as our CEO for the past five years has been extraordinarily effective in her work and leaves behind her a legacy of enduring value to the festival. We wish her every success in her future endeavors.”

“I am delighted to be joining Gráinne Humphreys and the team of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival. The festival has grown substantially since its founding by the late Michael Dwyer, and I relish the opportunity to help showcase the best of Irish and international film in Dublin, with the support of title sponsor Jameson,” added Ryan.

The 2013 JDIFF runs Feb 14-24, with the festival programme set to be announced in January.
