Locarno Film Festival’s new artistic director Olivier Pere will be more flexible in his programming for the nightly open-air programme on the town’s Piazza Grande.
He told Screen: “I think we can be more open and repeat one of the big films from a festival like Cannes or Edinburgh.”
Meanwhile, the festival stressed the International and Filmmakers of the Present competitions will include world or international premieres.
