‘The Land Of Sometimes’

EXCLUSIVE: Kaleidoscope Film Distribution (KFD) has drawn key deals on animated feature The Land Of Sometimes, which has now completed production.

The film has sold to North America (Shout! Studios), China (JL Vision Film), Portugal (Outsider Films), CIS (Paradise/MGN), Baltics (Movie Distribution Networks), the Middle East (Front Row), Israel (Red Cape Distribution), Vietnam (Mockingbird Pictures), and Mongolia (Izagur Media).

KFD’s distribution arm Kaleidoscope Entertainment will release the film theatrically in the UK and Ireland in Q1 2026. KFD has released new images from the film including the above, ahead of continuing sales at this month’s American Film Market (November 11-16).

The UK animation is directed by Leon Joosen and written by Tony Nottage, and produced by Nottage and animation veteran Bonnie Arnold, who has produced titles including Toy Story and the How To Train Your Dragon films. Production companies are Two Daughters Entertainment and Nottage Productions.

Executive producers are Alan Yentob, Arnold, Two Daughters executive chairman James Reatchlous and CEO Simon Bobin, and Kaleidoscope Film Distribution CEO Spencer Pollard.

Featuring original songs by The Lion King composer Tim Rice and Pete Hobbs, the film has a voice cast including Ewan McGregor, Helena Bonham Carter, Asa Butterfield, Alisha Weir, Andrei Shen, Mel Brooks and the late Terry Jones.

Set on Christmas Eve, it follows two twins whose father is missing at war. When their mother presents them with a Wish Watch left by their father, they are invited by The Wish Collector, who transports them to a magical terrain called The Land of Sometimes.

“It has been a long journey to get here and we are thrilled that Two Daughters and the rest of the creative team and production have delivered a stellar family adventure that will be loved around the world,” said Pollard. “Buyers have engaged with the film and the pre-sales achieved are a great reflection on how sought after this project was.”
