EXCLUSIVE: Arclight Films has acquired crime romance The Lookalike with a cast including John Corbett, Justin Long, Scottie Thompson, Jerry O’Connell and Gina Gershon.

The shoot has wrapped in New Orleans.

“The Lookalike is not your everyday crime-romance,” said director/producer Richard Gray. “The writing is superb – a beautiful twisting plot and I feel we have something special here, a balance of wit and action, made real by such a talented and diverse cast.”

He added: “I’m extremely excited to be working with Arclight Films. Their reputation and ability to bridge the gap between us filmmakers and the marketplace is crucial to the success of The Lookalike.”

The story follows a drug lord whose gangster friends try to find a lookalike for the deceased object of his affection. Along the way they encounter an ex-basketball champion, a gossip writer, a coke addict, and a deaf beauty.

Clay Epstein, VP of Sales and Acquisitions for Arclight Films, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Justin, Richard and their extremely talented team of filmmakers and actors. The Lookalike has the perfect combination of commercial viability and modern day moviemaking edge that is certain to resonate with audiences on a global scale.”

The deal was negotiated between Clay Epstein on behalf of Arclight Films and Gray’s Yellow Brick films.

Actor Long [pictured] also serves as one of the film’s producers.
