Italy’s Rai Cinema has acquired more than 100 films from UK-based ITV Studios Global Entertainment. The films will air across channels at Rai Radio Televisione Italiana.

The package includes restored and remastered high definition films including Laurence Olivier-starring Henry V; Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes; Brief Encounter; Sophie’s Choice starring Meryl Streep; and Powell and Pressburger’s Black Narcissus.

The deal was brokered by Gioia Avvantaggiato at GA&A and ITV Studios Global Entertainment’s Andre Renaud, Senior Sales Executive - Italian Speaking Europe.

Also, ITV has announced that it has restored and remastered Lindsay Anderson’s This Sporting Life, and will present the revamped classic to TV, VOD and DVD buyers at MIPTV in April. Richard Harris and Rachel Roberts star in the 1963 drama.
