Ed Guiney, co-CEO of Ireland’s Element Pictures, and Anita Juka, founder of Croatia’s 4Film, have been elected to the board of the European Producers Club (EPC).
Meanwhile, Mariela Besuievsky of Spain’s Tornasol Media and Pandora da Cunha Telles of Portugal’s Ukbar Films have both been re-elected to the EPC board.
Each will serve a two-year mandate. Guiney and Juka both replace outgoing board members Reinier Selen of the Netherlands’ Rinkel Film and and Ulrik Bolt Jorgensen of Denmark’s Arena Film.
The board election results were announced during the EPC’s General Assembly in Cannes. Founded in 1993, the EPC represents the interests of independent producers in Europe.
The General Assembly also appointed Petter Borgli of Norway’s Storm Film as an honorary member of the EPC, with which he has been involved since its inception.
At the Assembly, Julie-Jeanne Regnault, who took over as a managing director of the EPC earlier this year, presented an overview of the EPC’s ongoing work, structured around four key pillars of activities: Networking, Think Tank, Partners & Events, and Policy & Advocacy.
ATM Virtual’s Maciej Zemojcin, an AI film and virtual production specialist, presented a proposal for an online crash course on AI for EPC members. The programme will consist of six online sessions starting in June.
Carlo Cresto Dina of Italy’s Tempesta Film spoke of the EPC’s ongoing efforts to promote the recognition of European producers at festivals, aiming to enhance their visibility and participation.
Finally, Alessandro Amato of Italy’s Disparte presented the achievements and upcoming initiatives of the EPC Working Group dedicated to bridging the generational gap, both within the EPC and across the wider industry. The goal is to support the integration of a new generation of producers.
