Organisation selected as finalist at fourth Annual Britweek UKTI Business Innovation Awards.
Films Without Borders has been selected as a finalist at the upcoming fourth Annual Britweek UKTI Business Innovation Awards.
The organisation, founded by documentary and film-maker Jill Samuels [pictured at the BFI reception on April 4 at Windsor Castle] in 2010, is up against Jamie Oliver and the Silicon Valley Internship Programme in the Philanthropy category. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner, which will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles on April 24.
Samuels commented: “Films Without Borders is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to teach young people living in challenging countries basic filmmaking skills. This opens the door to a new career path, one which would otherwise not be easily accessible to them.
She continued: “The entire team has put a tremendous amount of energy and passion into achieving our goals and we are thrilled and honoured that our efforts are being acknowledged with this prestigious award nomination.”
Since its launch, Films Without Borders has been granting young people living in challenging countries around the world the opportunity to explore the art of filmmaking.
