‘I See The Demon’

Jacob Lees Johnson’s sci-fi horror I See The Demon was the big winner at the UK’s Grimmfest festival in Manchester, which ran October 9-12.

I See The Demon follows a woman (Alexis Zollicoffer) who sees an unexplained phenomenom in the sky before her surprise birthday party, and begins to suffer from strange hallucinations. It won the festival’s best film and best screenplay prizes, and earned special mentions in several other categories.

Other winners included Beast Of War, which won best director for Kiah Roache-Turner and best actor for Mark Cole Smith, and Dina Silva, who collected best actress for Frankie Maniac Woman.

Grimmfest’s 17th edition took place at The Odeon Great Northern in Manchester, screening 22 features and three programmes of shorts.

  • Best actor in a male role: Mark Cole Smith in Beast Of War
  • Best actor in a female role: Dina Silva in Frankie Maniac Woman
  • Best director: Kiah Roache-Turner for Beast Of War
