Industry veteran Joey Monteiro has been promoted to president of worldwide marketing at Neon as the company announced a raft of promotions and one hire on Monday.

Monteiro joined the company in 2024 as EVP of international marketing from Sierra/Affinity-eOne, where he served as EVP of marketing and publicity.

The executive’s campaign credits include I, Tonya Drive, Whiplash, Manchester By The Sea, and Nightcrawler. He previously held senior roles at Warner Bros and Lionsgate, contributing to marketing campaigns for The Dark Knight, the Harry Potter franchise, Hotel Rwanda, Saw, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, and Monster’s Ball.

Neon, which will present its upcoming slate at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday, unveiled additional staff news.

Alex Altschuler has been promoted to president of media; Don Wilcox to EVP of marketing, Mike Winton to EVP of marketing; and Danielle Lee to director, creative services.

Cat Fisher has joined as EVP of marketing from Filmnation where she served as VP of marketing. Wilcox, Lee and Fisher will all report to Monteiro.

Neon earned six Oscar nominations last season, winning the international feature film award for Sentimental Value.

“What this team has built is incredibly special,” Neon founder and CEO Tom Quinn said. “It’s a deep bench of talent that has been delivering at a high level for nearly a decade, and it’s gratifying to see that work evolve and continue to be recognised.”

The company has six films that have been announced in the upcoming Cannes line-up. Five will premiere in Competition – Na Hong-Jin’s Hope, Arthur Harari’s The Unknown, Cristian Mungiu’s Fjord, Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s All Of A Sudden, and Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Sheep In The Box – and Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell out of competition.
