EXCLUSIVE: Le Pacte has boarded Raphael Quenard and Azedine Kasri’s offbeat romantic comedy Mystik: The Stolen Cat.
Cesar-winning actor Quenard stars in the film as a hopeless romantic and small-town cop who, in a desperate attempt to win over his high school sweetheart, hatches a fake kidnapping attempt on her cat. The starry local cast also includes François Cluzet, Emmanuelle Bercot and Magalie Lepine-Blondeau.
Quenard also produces via his Lipsum Productions alongside Five Dogs. Le Pacte will release the film in France.
Le Pacte is at this week’s European Film Market (EFM) with a slate of new titles that includes Paolo Strippoli’s high-concept Italian thriller The Spiral, starring Jasmine Trinca and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Chabname Zariab’s Afghanistan-set drama When She Hears The Bells, starring Golshifteh Farahani and Thomas Lilti’s comedy drama Beware Of The Dog starring Francois Civil, Karim Leklou and Lea Drucker.
The company is also hosting market screenings for Guillaume Nicloux’s Rotterdam title, the Canary Islands-set thriller Mi Amor starring Pom Klementieff and Benoit Magimel, Alberto Vázquez’s animated existential fable Decorado, and Alauda Ruiz de Azúa’s Spanish box office hit Sundays, which leads this year’s Goya nominations with 13 nods.
