The Sundance Institute has announced the 13 projects selected for its annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place in Utah from June 1-25.

The projects and participants selected for the Directors Lab from June 1-19 are:

40 Days Of Silence (Uzbekistan) by Saodat Ismailova (writer/director);

Bluebird (USA) by Lance Edmands (writer/director);

Drunktown’s Finest (USA) by Sydney Freeland (writer/director);

Martha Marcy May Marlene (USA) by Sean Durkin (writer/director);

My Favorite Nightmare (USA) by Myna Joseph (writer/director);

The Perfect Moment (USA) by Ondi Timoner (director) and Bruce Goodrich (writer);

The Ruined Cast (USA) by Dash Shaw (writer/director); and

Shelter (Egypt-USA) by Kasem Kharsa.

The Directors Lab Fellows will be joined at the Screenwriters Lab from June 20-25 by the following projects and participants:

Aqui Y Alli (Here and There) (Spain/USA) by Antonio Mendez Esparza (writer/director);

Nobody Walks (USA) by Ry Russo-Young (co-writer/director) and Lena Dunham (co-writer);

Run And Jump (Ireland-USA) by Steph Green (co-writer/director) and Alibhe Keogan (co-writer);

Wolf (Romania) by Bogdan Mustata (writer/director); and

Zero Motivation (Israel) by Talya Lavie (writer/director).

“In an increasingly complex landscape for independent films, we recognise the need for sustained support for filmmakers through every phase of the process,” Michelle Satter, director of the Sundance Feature Film Program, said. “The June Lab is the centerpiece of a year-round system of residencies, grants, and tailored creative and strategic support which begins with script development and continues all the way through to engaging audiences on multiple platforms.”
