The inaugural Nordic Film Festival has unveiled its programme, comprising 11 independent productions from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
The NFF, which runs from Nov 30 to Dec 5 in London, will open with Susanne Bier’s Love Is All You Need starring Pierce Brosnan and Trine Dyrholm. It will close with Lisa Langseth’s first feature Pure starring Alicia Vikander.
Other selections include Thomas Vinterberg’s Festen, Andre Ovredal’s Troll Hunter and Gabriel Axel’s Babette’s Feast.
The festival will hold screenings at Riverside Studios, Ciné Lumière and the Prince Charles Cinema.
NFF director Sonali Joshi commented, “Nordic cinema is thriving, with its vibrant independent filmmaking scene and long-standing traditions of internationally recognised talent.
“Nordic Film Festival will be the only festival of its kind in the UK, offering a dedicated context through which to celebrate Nordic cinema with the aim of producing a truly creative, exciting and enjoyable festival.”
