New York-based Ryan Kampe and Sylvan Tron of Visit Films have launched the distributor Baxter Brothers Film Releasing.

The new venture will handle quality films from the US and around the world and kicks off with Ivan Sen’s Australian drama Beneath Clouds on DVD in the US as well as SXSW hit Sorry, Thanks by Dia Sokol.

Beneath Clouds follows the light-skinned daughter of an Aboriginal mother and Irish father and a Murri boy doing time in a minimum-security prison who go on a short-lived journey together with no money of transportation. Theresa-Jayne Hanlon produced and Dannielle Hall, Damian Pitt and Jenna Lee Connors star.

Sorry, Thanks features Wiley Wiggins, Kenya Miles and Andrew Bujalski and centres on a woman on the rebound who hooks up with a man of dubious character who is already in a long-term relationship.

Both films will be released on DVD on September 7.
