Samuel Goldwyn Films has picked up all US rights to the Rachel Weisz thriller The Whistleblower following its recent world premiere in Toronto.

Voltage Pictures is handling international sales here on the story inspired by true events about a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia who uncovers corruption.

First-timer Larysa Kondracki directed the film and the cast includes Vanessa Redgrave, Monica Bellucci and David Strathairn.

Samuel Goldwyn is targeting an August 2011 release. Vice-president of acquisitions Peter Goldwyn negotiated the deal with Rena Ronson of UTA.

Christina Piovesan, Amy Kaufman and Mandalay Vision’s Celine Rattray produced and Voltage head Nicolas Chartier and Sergei Bespalov served as executive producers.
