EXCLUSIVE: The Last Emperor 3D to get UK theatrical release in 2014 as part of deal.

Hollywood Classics has inked a deal with HanWay Select to market, sell and exploit theatrical rights to their library of classics for single screenings worldwide.

As part of the deal, Metrodome subsidiary Hollywood Classics will theatrically re-release Bernardo Bertolucci’s classic The Last Emperor 3D in the UK in 2014.

HanWay Select, the specialty division of HanWay Films, handles a diverse slate of new director and documentaries including The Unknown Known, The Story of Film: An Odyssey and Woody Allen: A Documentary as well as classics from directors including Bernardo Bertolucci, David Cronenberg, Clint Eastwood, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott and Bob Rafelson.

The deals were negotiated by John Ramchandani, managing director of Hollywood Classics, and Fabien Westerhoff, director of sales and distribution at HanWay Select.

Ramchandani said: “The HanWay Select brand has become synonymous with prestigious, renowned award winning feature films. The rich library contains works from cinematic greats including Bernardo Bertolucci, Martin Scorsese, Nicolas Roeg, David Cronenberg and Wim Wenders.

“These films were created for the big screen and Hollywood Classics is proud of the opportunity to represent such a unique catalogue for theatrical distribution.”

Hollywood Classics represents the library titles of Universal Studios, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros and MGM.
